Job summary

The Harbourside is a recently renovated 24 seater cafe on the harbour in Dunure with gorgeous views of the rugged coastline and popular harbour. Our confident and kind team offer freshly prepared breakfast & lunch using produce from local suppliers in our open kitchen and a fab customer experience in our beautiful café in a beautiful part of the world.

We are looking for a new crew member to join our team who can meet each of these essential requirements;

• Comfortable working flexibly between the open kitchen and with customers in the customer service area in a busy work environment.
• Available 2-3 days per week from 7.30am – 5pm throughout the year on week days and weekends. (This role is not suitable if you are only available in the holidays)
• Have a knowledge & a passion for fresh food, good knife skills and happy to get stuck into the dishes when needed.
• Can evidence at least 2 years experience in working within hospitality or working with the public.
• Happy to take part in an informal interview and a paid trial day to see if you feel happy working with us.
• Provide a full CV and 2 references (references will not be contacted unless successful at the interview/ trial stage).

Tasks can include:

• Working together to keep the cafe and kitchen area clean, organised, safe and welcoming.
• After training supporting the chef by preparing dishes such as salads and sandwiches.
• Take delivery of produce and distributing to the relevant storage places.
• Washing dishes, loading and unloading dishwasher and cleaning of food preparation areas.
• Serving prepared dishes to customers.
• Assisting front of house when required with drinks service and taking orders.
• Engaging with customers to contribute to a positive customer experience.
• Working with the team to clean down at the end of the shift.
