Full job description

Kitchen Porter

We are looking for hard working and dedicated kitchen porters to join our friendly kitchen team. Someone who lives locally enough to the hotel to be able to commute each day.
You will be responsible for assisting other kitchen staff but your primary duties would be using the dishwasher, keeping the kitchen clean and other related similar tasks.

Benefits

· Salary: £12.21

· Holidays: 28 days per year increasing year on year (capped at 5 years)

· FREE FERRY travel if commuting from outside St Mawes.

· Free Meals on duty.

Tips paid monthly

Responsibilities

· Keep all kitchen work surfaces (counters, sinks, stoves, walls) clean and sanitized.

· Sweep and mop floors at the beginning and ending of shifts.

· Be ready to clean up spills to avoid hindering operations.

· Wash cookware, utensils and cutlery fast to keep them in rotation.

· Arrange equipment and ingredient deliveries.

· Keep the food and supply storage areas organized.

· Take out any rubbish and waste.

· Help with routine food prep tasks (such as peeling and chopping vegetables) when needed.

· Could be required to drive the Milk Float, to remove waste to main waste area.

· Ensure that all waste is separated.

· Maintaining high standards of hygiene, uniform and health and safety at all times.

About you

· Be calm and focused in a high pressure, busy environment.

· Willingness to learn and a great commitment towards work.

· A fast learner with an interest in kitchen work.

· Willingness to adhere to health and safety rules.

· Good organizational skills.

· The ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment.
