What you’ll be doing

This is a key position within the House of Commons Chamber and Participation Team (CPT) senior management team, reporting to the Clerk Assistant who is also Managing Director of CPT.

The postholder will hold one of the following four key roles: Clerk of the Journals, Clerk of Legislation, Principal Clerk of the Table Office and Chamber Business Team Strategic Director, collectively supporting the Clerk of the House and the Clerk Assistant giving advice on parliamentary practice and procedure.

In addition to the ability to manage people and resources, the successful candidate will have the capacity to act on sole charge as a Table Clerk with knowledge and authority, advising the Chair, business managers and others on Chamber business. Detailed knowledge of the procedures and practices of the House, or a similar institution, is essential.

We are looking for a senior leader who will role model the House of Commons values in all aspects of their role.
