Full job description

Job Overview
Star Symphony Drone Shows (part of Star Fireworks) is seeking individuals who would like to earn some extra money on top of an existing job they may have, by crewing our exciting drone light shows. Our drone light show company works all over the UK from a base near Reading, Berkshire, flying drone light shows with fleets of up to 500 drones at a time.

This not a full-time or even part-time job, this is a job for someone who already has a job (or spare time) and wants to earn some extra money working on occasional drone light shows. Customer shows are typically on Fridays and Saturdays (but could be any day of the week). It is usually a full days work, with the team meeting at our base and then heading out to the site, charging batteries and setting up a grid of several hundred drones, and then flying the show and returning to base. Full training will be given. It's a very interesting job in a new and exciting field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting our clients in a friendly manner.
  • Helping with the loading of vans with the drones and support equipment
  • Charging drone batteries
  • Helping the flight crew set up the fleet of drones in place and readying them for flight.
  • Being an extra observer during the flight helping to ensure flight safety for everyone on the ground and other airspace users
  • Packing drones away carefully after the show and returning them to the base

Requirements

  • Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment.
  • Good analysis skills to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills/
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends as required. Agreeing to work a particular show is not mandatory, although once you have committed to work a show we do then expect you to work that session.
  • Previous experience with drones is not essential, full training will be provided. Join us as a Crew Member and be part of a dynamic team that values hard work, dedication, and customer satisfaction!
  • This is an outdoor working role. You will need to be able to get to our Reading base in order to work with us (near M4 J11).

To apply, please send us a copy of your CV and tell us why you think you would be a great team member. Please remember, this is not a full-time or part-time job, it is ad hoc work for when you are free and available to work on a show booking we have.

Start date will be 1st November 2025 to gain experience on some shows booked around the Guy Fawkes week. Being able to work 1st/7th/8th November would be an advantage.

Pay: £13.50-£20.00 per hour

Application question(s):

  • Are you able to work at the weekend for full days/evenings on an occasional basis?
  • Do you have a specific interest in drones (and please tell us about it)

Work Location: In person
