Health and Social Care Tutor
Full Time opportunity available - requirement to teach in venues across Greater London on a daily basis.
£31,650 – £34,443 per annum pro rata, plus London Weighting
Are you an experienced tutor, looking for a new challenge? Would you like to work for an organisation with a strong social purpose? Do you agree with our ethos that all adults, regardless of their situation, should have access to education? If so – then read on!
The WEA is the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education, a charity dedicated to bringing high quality, professional education into the heart of communities. We are looking for talented individuals to help us deliver our mission – to bring education within reach
Job Description
WEA are looking for talented individuals to help us deliver our mission – to bring education within reach. If that sounds like you, then please read on.
Inspire the next generation of carers. Change lives. Start with us.
Are you passionate about empowering people to begin meaningful careers in the care sector? Do you thrive in a teaching environment where every session can spark confidence, purpose and new opportunities?
We’re looking for a dynamic, engaging tutor to deliver our Health and Social Care programme — helping adult learners build core skills, gain essential knowledge, and prepare for real employment in a sector that truly matters.
What you’ll do
- Deliver high‑impact, supportive learning sessions that prepare learners for roles in Health & Social Care
- Bring the curriculum to life with real examples, compassion, and energy
- Motivate learners who are brand new to the sector, helping them develop confidence and practical readiness
- Work as part of a mission-driven team committed to transforming lives through education
What we’re looking for
- Teaching Qualification
- Experience in the adult care sector, as well as recent CPD and back-to-the-floor activity
- Warm, learner‑centred approach
- Passion for care, employability, or adult education
- Ability to inspire, encourage and adapt to diverse learner needs
Whilst we normally expect our tutors to hold a recognised teaching qualification, we also recognise that many individuals are qualified by experience. These tutors often bring a wealth of transferable skills and subject expertise that can add real value to our courses.
If you are interested in applying but do not currently hold a formal teaching qualification, we would still welcome your enquiry. Please contact us at recruitment@wea.ac.uk, and we will consider your application on an individual basis.
We are working hard to create a workplace that reflects the communities we seek to serve and in which everyone feels empowered to be themselves and work together to drive positive change. We strongly encourage applicants from a diverse range of candidates and encourage everyone with the appropriate skills, experiences and potential to apply. Should you need any support with your application, then please email recruitment@wea.ac.uk
