About JT Education
JT Education is a boutique international education consultancy founded in 2016, supporting students in accessing study opportunities at partner educational institutions in the UK and beyond. The Company has grown steadily and continues to expand its presence within the international education sector.
JT Education is regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) (formerly OISC) and provides visa-related services in accordance with applicable UK immigration regulations and professional standards.
This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker sponsorship at the point of recruitment. Applicants must hold a valid immigration status that permits them to work in the UK. The Company may consider Skilled Worker sponsorship for eligible employees following a minimum of 12 months' successful full-time employment, subject to business needs, role eligibility, performance, and applicable UK immigration requirements at the relevant time.
Student Recruitment & Marketing Consultant
Role Overview
The Student Recruitment & Marketing Consultant will support the Company's student recruitment, marketing, and business development activities across the UK and international education sectors.
The role is designed for individuals who are interested in developing a long-term career in international education. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Education Consultants and management staff, gaining practical knowledge of student recruitment, university admissions, education consultancy, compliance requirements, and client relationship management.
The position combines marketing and promotional activities with student engagement and business development responsibilities. Over time, successful employees will be expected to develop the knowledge, skills, and professional judgement required to progress into an Education Consultant role.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing and Student Recruitment
- Support the planning and delivery of student recruitment and marketing campaigns targeting primarily Mandarin and Cantonese-speaking student markets.
- Represent the Company at university campuses, exhibitions, recruitment events, school visits, and other promotional activities.
- Assist with the development and management of digital marketing channels, including Xiaohongshu, WeChat, social media platforms, and other relevant recruitment channels.
- Build relationships with prospective students and educational partners.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and market expansion activities.
Student Engagement and Consultancy Support
- Respond to student enquiries and provide accurate information regarding study opportunities and application processes under the supervision and guidance of senior consultants where appropriate.
- Support students throughout different stages of the recruitment and application journey.
- Assist Education Consultants with administrative and client-facing activities where appropriate.
- Participate in consultations, student meetings, and follow-up communications under guidance from senior colleagues.
Professional Development
- Actively participate in Company meetings, training sessions, and case discussions.
- Develop knowledge of UK and international education systems, admissions processes, and student recruitment practices.
- Observe and learn from experienced consultants through client consultations, meetings, and case management activities.
- Complete any mandatory compliance, safeguarding, data protection, education agent, or other professional training required by the Company.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development and ethical recruitment practices.
- In addition to your normal duties, you may be required to undertake other duties as reasonably requested by your line manager to meet the operational needs of the organisation, including providing support across different business functions when required.
Career Development
JT Education is committed to developing talent within the organisation.
Employees who demonstrate strong performance, professionalism, industry knowledge, and the ability to effectively support students may have opportunities to progress into Education Consultant or other senior positions, subject to business needs and individual performance.
Training, mentoring, and ongoing professional development opportunities will be provided to support career progression within the Company.
Main Requirements
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese (Cantonese would be an advantage).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with students, parents, educational institutions, and colleagues.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to learn within a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated interest in international education, student recruitment, marketing, or related fields.
- Previous experience in education, student recruitment, marketing, customer engagement, business development, or related sectors would be advantageous.
- Good understanding of the education systems in Mainland China and the UK is desirable, although full training will be provided.
- A commitment to professional development, ethical practice, and high standards of client service.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and handle student information responsibly and confidentially.
Candidates who demonstrate strong potential but do not fully meet the requirements may be considered for a paid internship or trainee position, subject to business needs.
Other Requirements
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application.
- Employees are required to notify the Company immediately of any change to their immigration status, visa conditions, or right-to-work status. Continued employment is subject to maintaining the legal right to work in the UK.
- Employees are expected to comply with all Company policies and procedures, including those relating to data protection, safeguarding, confidentiality, professional conduct, health and safety, and the appropriate use of Company equipment and communication systems.
- Any secondary employment, self-employment, consultancy work, or business activity must be disclosed to and approved by the Company in advance where required by Company policy, contractual obligations, or immigration conditions.
- Employees are expected to maintain professional standards and act in accordance with the UK National Code of Ethical Practice for Education Agents and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Employees are expected to act in the best interests of students and provide accurate, transparent, and ethical information when advising prospective applicants.
- Some travel within the UK may be required to attend student recruitment events, partner meetings, exhibitions, training activities, or other business-related activities.
