This is a flexible, sessional role designed around you - run clinics up to 7 days per week, at times that suit your availability.

About CB1 Medical & CB1 Pharmacy

CB1 Medical is a private medical clinic specialising in the prescribing of cannabis-based medicines for patients with chronic pain and mental health conditions.

Our service is delivered remotely via telemedicine, supported by an experienced administration and patient support team. CB1 Pharmacy is our online dispensing partner, providing regulated private prescriptions including those issued by CB1 Medical and other UK clinics.

We operate within MHRA and GMC/NMC/HCPC prescribing frameworks, with a strong focus on governance, safe practice and patient-centred care.

The Role

As a CB1 Non-Medical Prescriber, you will:

  • Conduct structured assessments and reviews for patients referred for medical cannabis treatment
  • Prescribe where clinically appropriate and within your professional scope, in line with MHRA and NMC/HCPC/GPhC standards
  • Monitor patient progress, review treatment plans and adjust prescriptions based on therapeutic response and side effects
  • Ensure safe prescribing and maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records
  • Provide clear education around dosage, usage and potential side effects
  • Manage medication-related queries by phone and email
  • Oversee repeat prescriptions on Script Assist, resolving queries promptly
  • Collaborate with consultants, doctors, pharmacists and patient support colleagues
  • Stay current with developments in cannabis-based medicines, evidence-based guidelines and regulatory guidance
  • Contribute to audits, clinical governance and quality improvement activities

Working Pattern & Sessions

  • Appointments at 10-minute intervals
  • Each 4-hour session includes a paid 20-minute catch-up
  • Flexible scheduling - run clinics 7 days a week as fits your availability
  • Required attendance at a weekly virtual MDT session (Tuesday evening, 18:15 or 19:00) for CPD.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Registered healthcare professional with current NMC, HCPC or GPhC registration
  • Independent prescriber qualification
  • Experience managing patients with chronic pain, neurological conditions or mental health concerns
  • Strong understanding of prescribing governance and safe practice standards
  • Excellent communication, clinical judgement and patient engagement skills

Desirable:
