Full job description

Join one of Ireland's leading independent construction safety and compliance teams.

At Fiontar Group, we don't simply inspect sites. We help some of the largest contractors and developers across Ireland, the UK and Europe deliver safer, higher-performing construction projects.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced construction health and safety professional to join our specialist Compliance Assurance team.

This is an opportunity to move beyond a traditional site-based safety role and develop a career advising senior project teams on some of Europe's most complex construction programmes, with a particular focus on large-scale data centre developments.

If you're looking for a role where your experience is respected, your opinion carries weight, and every project presents a new challenge, we'd like to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Senior Compliance Assurance Advisor, you will carry out independent compliance assurance audits across major construction projects, working alongside Tier 1 contractors, developers and project leadership teams.

Your role is to provide objective assurance that health and safety management systems are being effectively implemented, identify opportunities for improvement, and help our clients continually raise standards.

No two weeks are the same. You'll visit projects across Ireland and the UK and Europe, engage with senior stakeholders and become part of a highly experienced team recognised for delivering practical, commercially focused advice.

Comprehensive training and mentoring will be provided to develop you into one of our Compliance Assurance specialists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed compliance assurance audits on live construction projects.
  • Review health and safety management systems against legal and client requirements.
  • Produce clear, professional audit reports with practical recommendations.
  • Engage confidently with Project Directors, Construction Managers and senior client representatives.
  • Present audit findings and discuss improvement opportunities with project teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across multiple client programmes.
  • Maintain excellent technical knowledge of current legislation and industry best practice.
  • Represent Fiontar Group professionally on every client engagement.

About You

You'll probably have several years' experience working on large construction projects and be looking for the next step in your career.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent knowledge of construction health and safety.
  • Can confidently build relationships with people at every level of a project.
  • Is comfortable challenging where required while remaining professional and solutions focused.
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enjoys analysing compliance rather than simply checking paperwork.
  • Is organised, self-motivated and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
  • Enjoys travelling to different projects while returning home most evenings.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' construction health and safety experience.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate, Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish and UK construction health and safety legislation.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Europe.

What We Offer

  • Salary of £40,000-£50,000 depending on experience.
  • Ongoing professional development and mentoring.
  • Structured training in Compliance Assurance methodologies.
  • Exposure to major Tier 1 contractors and flagship projects.
  • A genuine long-term career path within a growing business.
  • Supportive, collaborative team environment where your expertise is valued.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • health and safety: 4 years (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 50% (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Belfast BT12 7DG
