Full job description

Overview
FEMALE or MALE complex needs health care assistant who can bring their expertise in complex care to care for a patient with epilepsy, stoma care, peg care, autism and cerebral palsy. This is a part time role for the following shifts - YOU must have experience in dealing with epileptic seizures

Tues: 18:00-21:00

Weds 19:00-07:00 waking night

Thurs 18:00-21:00

Friday 18:00-21:00

total hours - 21 pw - contracted

Duties

  • Dealing with epileptic seizures, stoma changes, feeding via peg
  • Using a nebuliser
  • administering medication
  • making up medication and remedies
  • All paperwork, fluid chart, MAR charts and relevant paperwork
  • Manage behaviour effectively through compassionate behaviour management techniques
  • Assist with cleaning rota, preparing medication, stock take and light admin

Qualifications

  • Experience is essential - training will be provided in areas that need enhancement or further knowledge
  • Knowledge of autism, is desirable but not essential
  • Relevant qualifications such as first aid certification, Care certification are advantageous
  • Ability to understand care, health and safety and work in a professional and fast paced environment is required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage empathetically with clients of all ages
  • Night shift is a waking night
  • Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals in their daily lives

This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to increase their skill set about complex care, austim. The patient receives an exceptionally high standard of tailored care.

This role is suited to someone with good written and fluent English.

Start date from 1st August with 4 weeks paid training and then starting from 1st September.

BENEFITS AND RENUMERATION

Your basic pay will be £17.62ph with enhanced night pay taking it to £19.62 per hour.

Company pension, full paid training, uniform, 5.7 weeks holiday, enhanced bank holiday rate.
