Full job description

About the Role

Apollo Care Aylesbury is a new domiciliary care business being launched as part of the established Apollo Care network.

We are looking for an experienced, ambitious and compassionate CQC Registered Manager to play a key role in launching and developing the business from the ground up.

This is not simply a role managing an established care service. You will have the opportunity to help shape the culture, recruit your team, establish operational standards, develop relationships within the local community and build a high quality domiciliary care service across Aylesbury and the surrounding area.

You will work closely with the business owner and receive additional operational, regulatory and business support from the wider Apollo Care network.

We are looking for someone who combines excellent knowledge of care and CQC requirements with strong leadership, communication and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Acting as the CQC Registered Manager and ensuring the service meets all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the successful launch and development of Apollo Care Aylesbury.
  • Recruiting, developing and retaining a high quality team of care professionals.
  • Ensuring safe staffing levels as client numbers and weekly care hours increase.
  • Overseeing assessments, care planning, risk assessments and reviews.
  • Maintaining effective safeguarding, medication and quality assurance processes.
  • Monitoring care delivery and ensuring consistently high standards.
  • Conducting supervisions, appraisals, competency assessments and spot checks.
  • Managing complaints, incidents and safeguarding concerns appropriately.
  • Developing a positive, supportive and accountable workplace culture.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and their families.
  • Developing relationships with healthcare professionals, hospitals, GPs, community organisations and other potential referral partners.
  • Supporting business development and the growth of our private client base.
  • Monitoring operational KPIs and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Working closely with the business owner to develop and implement the long term strategy for the service.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience managing a domiciliary care service.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and the regulatory framework for adult social care.
  • Previous Registered Manager experience or the ability and experience required to successfully register with CQC.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, medication management, care planning and quality assurance.
  • Experience recruiting and managing care professionals.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship building ability.
  • Good commercial and financial awareness.
  • Confidence using care management systems and performance data.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel within the local area.

Previous experience launching, growing or turning around a domiciliary care service would be particularly desirable.

The Person We're Looking For

Qualifications and experience are important, but we are equally interested in the person behind the CV.

We want someone who is proactive, organised and comfortable taking ownership. You should enjoy building teams, solving problems and creating high standards rather than simply maintaining existing processes.

You should also be comfortable representing Apollo Care Aylesbury externally, whether that's meeting a family considering care for a loved one, developing a relationship with a healthcare professional or attending a community event.

Most importantly, you should genuinely care about the standard of service being delivered and understand that sustainable business growth follows when clients, families and employees trust the organisation.

What We Offer

  • £45,000 to £55,000 salary, depending on experience.
  • Opportunity to help build a new care business from the beginning.
  • Significant influence over the culture and development of the service.
  • Direct working relationship with the business owner.
  • Operational and regulatory support from the wider Apollo Care network.
  • Professional development and training opportunities.
  • Modern working environment based in Aylesbury.
  • Opportunity for increased responsibility as the organisation grows.
  • Long term career progression within a growing business.

Why Join Apollo Care Aylesbury?

We're not looking to build the biggest care business as quickly as possible. Our objective is to build one of the best and most trusted care providers in Aylesbury and the surrounding area.

We want to create an organisation where clients receive exceptional care, families have confidence in the people supporting their loved ones and employees are proud to work.

For the right Registered Manager, this is an opportunity to join us from the beginning and play a significant role in shaping and building the organisation for the future.

How to Apply

Please apply with your CV together with a short explanation of your experience managing domiciliary care services and why you are interested in helping build a new service from launch.

Experience launching or growing a domiciliary care service is particularly valuable and should be highlighted in your application.

Equal Opportunities

Apollo Care Aylesbury is an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates. All recruitment decisions are based on skills, experience, qualifications and suitability for the role, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
