Business Development Manager – Temporary Staffing£35,000 – £45,000 Basic Salary + Uncapped Commission | London

Are you a proven sales professional who knows how to win new business?

Do you have a strong network, excellent communication skills and the confidence to walk into a business, speak to decision-makers and secure a meeting?

If you have 5+ years of sales or business development experience in the UK and are ready for a role where your results directly impact your earnings and career progression, we want to hear from you.

About Us

We are a growing temporary staffing agency providing reliable staffing solutions to businesses across sectors including hospitality, hotels, housekeeping, cleaning, healthcare, facilities management and other industries.

We are looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to help us significantly expand our client base and secure new staffing contracts.

This is not a desk-only sales role.

We need someone who is prepared to get out into the market, meet businesses face-to-face, attend client sites, develop relationships and actively win new contracts.

The Role

As our Business Development Manager, you will take responsibility for generating new business from initial contact through to contract.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and targeting potential clients across London and surrounding areas.
  • Conducting face-to-face sales visits and door-to-door business development campaigns.
  • Cold calling prospective clients and decision-makers.
  • Arranging and attending client meetings and site visits.
  • Introducing our temporary staffing and outsourcing solutions.
  • Building relationships with General Managers, HR Managers, Operations Managers, Procurement Teams and business owners.
  • Understanding client staffing requirements and presenting suitable solutions.
  • Preparing quotations and commercial proposals.
  • Negotiating rates and securing new contracts.
  • Following up leads and converting prospects into paying clients.
  • Developing long-term relationships with newly acquired clients.
  • Growing existing accounts and identifying additional staffing opportunities.
  • Working closely with our recruitment and operations teams to ensure client requirements are successfully fulfilled.
  • Maintaining accurate sales records, pipeline information and activity reports.
  • Representing the company professionally at all times.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a hunter, not someone who waits for enquiries to arrive.

You should be:

  • Experienced in UK sales/business development.
  • A confident face-to-face communicator.
  • Comfortable with cold calling and approaching businesses directly.
  • Confident speaking with senior decision-makers.
  • Commercially minded and confident negotiating rates.
  • Highly motivated by targets and results.
  • Persistent and able to handle rejection.
  • Organised with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of your sales pipeline.
  • Professional, energetic and presentable.
  • Willing to travel for client meetings and business development activities.

Essential Experience

Minimum 5 years' sales or business development experience in the UK is required.

Experience in any of the following would be highly advantageous:

  • Temporary staffing
  • Recruitment
  • Hospitality
  • Hotels
  • Housekeeping
  • Cleaning
  • Healthcare
  • Domiciliary care
  • Facilities management
  • Warehousing & logistics
  • Catering & events

A proven track record of winning new clients and generating revenue will be highly valued.

Salary & Commission

Basic salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per year, depending on experience.

In addition, we offer a performance-based commission structure, giving you the opportunity to significantly increase your earnings as you bring in new business and grow your accounts.

There is no artificial ceiling on what a high-performing salesperson can earn.

The more business you generate, the more you earn.

Career Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing staffing business at an important stage of its development.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Build and manage their own client portfolio.
  • Develop new business across multiple sectors.
  • Take ownership of key accounts.
  • Increase their earning potential through commission.
  • Progress into a senior commercial/business development position.
  • Play a key role in the company's future growth.

This Role Is For You If...

You enjoy:

Meeting people.
Finding opportunities.
Opening doors.
Winning contracts.
Building relationships.
Hitting targets.
And seeing the financial results of your own work.

If you are someone who can confidently walk into a hotel, care home, restaurant, cleaning company or other business and say:

"Let me show you how we can solve your staffing problems."

—we want to meet you.

London & surrounding areas

This is a field-based and office-supported sales position, with regular client visits and face-to-face business development activity.
