We work with a wide range of technologies, including air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps and traditional gas heating systems, providing high-quality installations and ongoing customer support.

All our work is based in and around Norfolk, meaning no long-distance travelling or working away from home. We aim to keep our engineers working locally, supported by our dedicated office team.

As our business continues to expand, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Service & Breakdown Engineer to join our team.

We pride ourselves on providing a supportive working environment, investing in our employees and offering opportunities to develop technical knowledge across the rapidly growing renewable heating sector.

The Role

We are looking for a skilled and versatile engineer with a strong background in heating system maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repairs.

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for diagnosing and repairing faults across a wide variety of heating systems, ensuring our customers receive a reliable, professional and efficient service.

The role will also involve assisting our installation engineers with minor works, commissioning and technical support when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and breakdown repairs on air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps and gas heating systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults efficiently.
  • Carry out electrical fault finding on heating appliances, controls and associated components.
  • Complete minor plumbing and heating works, repairs and system alterations.
  • Assist installation teams with heating system installations, commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical advice and support to colleagues when required.
  • Assist with heating system design, specifications and technical solutions where experience allows.
  • Identify and order required replacement parts in coordination with our office team.
  • Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings and recommendations clearly.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while representing the company professionally.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in heating system servicing, maintenance and breakdown repairs.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good working knowledge of a variety of domestic heating systems and associated controls.
  • Ability to diagnose faults independently and provide practical, effective solutions.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a daily workload efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, presentable manner.
  • A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Gas Safe registration / relevant ACS qualifications.
  • G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification.
  • Recognised heat pump installation or maintenance qualifications.
  • Manufacturer-approved technical training.
  • Experience servicing and repairing air source and ground source heat pumps.
  • Experience with heating system commissioning, hydraulic design and controls.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and assist with heating system design.

We recognise that the right candidate may not hold every qualification listed. We are particularly interested in engineers with strong technical ability, proven fault-finding experience and a willingness to expand their knowledge.

Additional training and manufacturer accreditations will be provided and funded by the company.

Working as Part of Our Team

At LC Installations, teamwork and communication are essential to delivering the level of service our customers expect.

Our dedicated office team will coordinate daily appointments, organise workloads and arrange the ordering of materials and replacement parts.

The successful candidate will work closely with our office and installation teams to ensure breakdowns are resolved efficiently and customers’ heating and hot water systems are restored with minimal disruption.

We are looking for someone who understands the importance of building strong working relationships, keeping colleagues informed and taking ownership of their work.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of £40,000–£45,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Local work throughout Norfolk and surrounding areas – no working away from home.
  • Company van provided.
  • Paid annual leave and bank holidays.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • All relevant training and development fully funded.
  • Manufacturer-specific training and opportunities to gain further industry accreditations.
  • Supportive office team coordinating daily appointments and materials.
  • Opportunity to work with a variety of leading heating and renewable energy manufacturers.
  • Long-term career development within a growing and ambitious company.
  • A friendly, professional working environment where your experience and technical input are valued.

Why Join LC Installations?

We are not simply looking to fill a position; we are looking for someone who wants to become an important part of our company’s future.

With continued investment in our team, systems and business development, we offer an opportunity to join an established and expanding company at an exciting stage of growth.

As heating technology continues to develop, we believe in supporting our engineers with the training, equipment and technical knowledge required to stay ahead of the industry.

For the right candidate, this is an opportunity to develop their career, take on greater technical responsibility and make a genuine contribution to the ongoing success of the business.

With a locally based workload, a dedicated office support team and opportunities for professional development, we aim to provide a rewarding career without the need for extensive travel or working away.
