Full job description

Want to learn a specialist trade and build a career with a growing family-run business?

Peak Underfloor Heating is expanding, and we're looking for a reliable, practical and hardworking Underfloor Heating Engineer to join our growing team.

You don't need previous underfloor heating experience. Full training will be provided.

This is an opportunity to learn the full range of underfloor heating installation, commissioning and fault-finding skills while working on exciting projects across the UK.

We're particularly interested in people with plumbing, heating or construction site experience, but qualifications aren't essential. If you're practical, keen to learn and take pride in doing a good job, we'd like to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

Working as part of our team, you'll be involved in the installation and completion of underfloor heating systems across a range of projects.

Most of our work is on new-build developments, alongside some individual domestic and commercial projects.

You'll receive training across all aspects of the work, including:

  • Installing wet underfloor heating systems
  • Installing UFH pipework and manifolds
  • Connecting heating systems
  • Pressure testing
  • System commissioning
  • Fault finding and repairs
  • Working from drawings and plans
  • Working alongside other trades on construction sites
  • Liaising directly with site managers
  • Travelling to projects across the UK

Because Peak Underfloor Heating is part of a plumbing and heating business, plumbing skills are a real advantage. When required, there may also be opportunities to assist our plumbing team, giving you the chance to build your experience across both plumbing and underfloor heating.

Where will I be working?

Our office is based in Chesterfield, but our projects are nationwide.

The role involves regular travel and staying away from home several nights a week, depending on the project. Accommodation is provided and an overnight allowance is paid.

You'll need to be comfortable with travelling, early starts or longer travel days when necessary.

A full UK driving licence is essential and a company van will be provided.

What we're looking for

We're not looking for a long list of qualifications. Attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn are more important to us.

You'll be a good fit if you are:

  • Reliable and hardworking
  • Practical and hands-on
  • Keen to learn a new specialist skill
  • Someone who takes pride in their work
  • Good at paying attention to detail
  • Comfortable working as part of a team
  • Comfortable working on construction sites
  • Confident communicating with site managers and other trades
  • Happy travelling and staying away from home
  • Flexible when the job requires additional hours or travel

Previous UFH experience is not required and no specific qualifications are essential.

Plumbing or heating experience and previous site experience would be beneficial.

What we offer

We want this to be more than just another job. We're building a growing UFH business and are looking for people who want to grow with us.

You'll receive:

  • Competitive salary depending on experience
  • Full-time, permanent employment
  • Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
  • Overtime hours available
  • Company van
  • Tablet
  • Workwear and PPE
  • Accommodation provided when working away
  • Overnight allowance
  • 28 days' holiday, increasing with length of service up to 35 days
  • Workplace pension
  • Annual company social events
  • Full training across all aspects of UFH
  • Opportunities to develop and take on greater responsibility as the business grows

About Peak Underfloor Heating

We're a small, family-run business and we're proud of the team we've built.

You'll be joining us at an exciting stage of our development as we continue to grow our underfloor heating side of the business. We want our employees to develop alongside that growth and, as the business expands, we hope to create further opportunities for progression and responsibility.

You're not just a number here. You'll be a valued member of the team.

If you're reliable, practical, hardworking and keen to learn, we'd love to hear from you.
