Full job description

An exciting vacancy has arisen for a driven and dynamic Gardener with garden maintenance experience, keen to continue to develop their gardening skills on a historic, 400 acre private estate in Surrey. The beautiful 25 acre garden is made up of herbaceous and mixed borders with a vast array of ornamental species including a Mediterranean garden and a prairie border, Italian garden, kitchen garden, lawns, wildflower meadows and woodland areas.

Applicants for this role will ideally have either experience working in a private estate garden or hold a horticultural qualification (NVQ or similar) or both. We also believe in providing professional development opportunities to employees in the early stages of their career who demonstrate the right attitude and commitment.

Candidates will have experience with general garden maintenance including mowing, weeding, strimming and hedge cutting. In addition, candidates will have good practical skills, be hands-on, and have with reasonable plant knowledge.

Beaverbrook promotes a friendly and rewarding working environment, so it is important that candidates have a positive attitude, with good communication skills and are able to get on well with all other staff members.

Salary: £28,000 per annum, plus tronc

Shift Pattern:

  • 40 hours per week
  • 7am - 3.30pm with some variation depending upon the season

Applicants will ideally have a full driving licence and own transport.
