Job Summary

Due to our workload rapidly expanding Skippers Ground Maintenance are looking for enthusiastic people with drive and pride in their work to join our team, as well as willingness to learn and progress with the company. We are contractors for many schools, councils and housing associations and carry our high standards through all aspects of our work.

Horticultural or Groundskeeping knowledge is required as well as a full UK driving licence. We operate in many schools across the county and therefore will be carrying out DBS checks on the successful candidates.

Full-time Monday-Friday, with the opportunity for overtime in the summer months. Hours of work are between 7:00-17:00.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Skippers are looking for an experienced and reliable ground maintenance operative to join our teams, with capability to organise a small team across your designated sites. Ability to be flexible in day to day runnings, able to effectively and quickly find solutions when necessary. Excellent communication skills will be ideal for the communication between teams and customers.

Duties will involve regular grass mowing (push and ride-on), strimming, white lining, hedge cutting, clearing leaves and litter, utilising hand tools, plant and machinery and shrub bed maintenance for all positions.

PA1 and PA6 certificate in chemical application, trailer licence, chainsaw certificates and street work certification would be an advantage but not essential.

Rate of pay will be dependant on experience and qualifications held.
