Grounds Maintenance Operative

Location: Maldon

Pay Rate: £12.78 per hour

Contract: 2 Months Temporary

Hours: 37 hours per week

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 07:00 to 17:00

Friday: 07:00 to 15:30

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a dedicated team responsible for maintaining and improving public spaces and scenery throughout Maldon Promenade Park.

This is a practical outdoor role involving a mixture of grounds maintenance, street cleansing and general upkeep duties.

What You'll Do

  • Empty bins and carry out litter picking
  • Sweep pathways and keep public areas clean and tidy
  • Carry out grass cutting and general grounds maintenance
  • Hand-weed shrub beds
  • Carry out hedge trimming
  • Support the wider team with the upkeep of the park and surrounding public spaces

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance or street cleansing
  • Experience with weed spraying is beneficial
  • Experience operating vehicles such as ride-along mowers
  • Full UK driving licence up to 3.5 tonnes
  • Comfortable working outdoors and carrying out practical, hands-on duties

Who Might Suit This Role

This role may suit candidates with experience as a Grounds Maintenance Operative, Parks Operative, Gardener, Landscape Operative, Street Cleansing Operative, Environmental Operative, Horticultural Operative, Grounds Person, or General Operative.

Candidates with experience in local authority services, landscaping, horticulture, parks maintenance or street cleansing may also have relevant transferable skills.
