37.5 hours (start & finish times vary during summer & winter months)

The Arley Estate:

Arley House, Arley Arboretum, The Grange Hotel and 65 tenanted properties sit within a prestigious 1,600-acre estate in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside at Upper Arley on the banks of the River Severn between Bewdley & Bridgnorth.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative who can work independently and as part of a team, carrying out a wide range of reactive and planned tasks across the estate.

This physically demanding role requires you to work indoors and outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.

What you will be doing:

  • Mowing, strimming on all our green areas which include roadside, sports field, and car parks.
  • Weeding and general upkeep on shrubberies within the village.
  • Working in our woodland making sure public access and rides are cleared.
  • Keep paths and paved areas around the estate clean and free of weeds, litter, and debris.
  • Repair & maintain fences.
  • Maintain the health and appearance of trees.
  • To carry out log deliveries as and when required.
  • Operate power tools such as chainsaws safely and effectively.
  • Collaborate with other teams to complete landscape & other projects.
  • Carry out specific duties and tasks as per summer and winter maintenance programmes.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Experience of dealing with members of the public.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Chainsaw qualified.
  • PA1 PA6 pesticide spraying qualifications.
  • Experience of operating a range of equipment including, pedestrian mowers, push mowers, strimmer’s & hedge cutting equipment.
  • Experience of tractor driving.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.

Interviews will take place in January 2025

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £26,000.00 per year
