Experience: A proven record of carrying out gardening to a high standard OR a passion for gardening and looking to build and develop a professional career as a gardener.

The role:

We are looking for somebody who has an excellent knowledge of plants, has experience spraying invasive weeds, and can mow, strim and cut hedges to a professional standard.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out our treatment schedule across June to October and to work cohesively with our team of 12 gardeners and office staff, as well as supporting the management of an apprentice as required across the rest of the year.

You will be at the main base for 6.45 am. Monday to Thursday we aim to leave the last job at 4pm and on Fridays we leave the last job at 3pm. During June to October there is the potential to travel a large amount of miles for the treatment schedule, However during the rest of the year we work locally, usually within an hours radius of our base in Yarnfield, Stone.

As a gardener you will be knowledgeable not only about shrubs and trees but also lawn care and associated tasks such as scarification, aeration and top dressing as well as experience treating invasive weeds.

We are looking for an enthusiastic gardener with a positive attitude who will prioritise customer satisfaction. We provide gardening and landscaping services to premium private gardens, which require a keen eye for detail to ensure jobs are completed to a high standard.

About you:

• Minimum NVQ level 2 in Amenity Horticulture OR NVQ Level 2 in Landscaping OR a proven record of maintaining grounds to a high standard & that you have practical experience within a similar role.
• Full driving licence, ideally with a trailer licence advantageous
• Excellent attendance record.

• Personally motivated and willing to improve and learn new skills.
• Good motivational skills.
• A good general plant knowledge and will ideally be able to identify a minimum of 60 Trees or/and Shrubs or/and Perennials or/and Annuals including Latin names.
• Able to work to deadlines.
• A good amount of practical experience within a similar role – including mowing, strimming and hedge cutting to a high standard.
• Work to a high standard with a keen eye for detail, showing care and thought in all you do.
• Effective communication skills with other members of the team, the public and clients.
• A good knowledge of Health and Safety with respects gardening and landscaping.

Salary: From £28,000 DOE
