A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Gardener to join the Gardens team on our prestigious estate. Stoke Park Limited Stoke Poges Buckinghamshire is a 5-star Estate and Country Club situated at the heart of a 300-acre Capability Brown Landscape.
The gardens around the Estate have recently undergone extensive improvements and consist of large mixed borders filled with cottage garden style planting, Rhododendron walks, a Japanese koi pond, an Orangery, a large kitchen garden and much more. As various areas are still under development, this would offer the opportunity for the successful candidate to get involved at the development stage and be apart of the journey going forward.
The role involves working within the Gardening Team, ensuring all Garden maintenance tasks and projects are carried out efficiently and to an exceptional standard across all properties. Applicants should have a positive attitude and must work well in a team and/or on their own. The gardens are maintained to a high standard so candidates must have great attention to detail.
Specific Duties:
- Carry out routine maintenance in Garden areas such as, but not limited to - watering, dead heading, weeding, digging, planting, hedge cutting.
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained at all times with breakages reported to the Team Leader.
- Work in conjunction with the Head Gardener/Team Leaders to produce the Stoke Park 5* standard throughout the estate and externally owned gardens.
The successful candidate:
- Must be familiar with all Garden maintenance duties
- Must be willing to work outside in all weather
- Will have a willingness to learn and have ambition to become a future Gardener
- Relevant horticultural training/certification would be beneficial, but not essential All applicants should reside within a 60 minute travel distance.
A generous salary and additional benefits will be offered to the right candidate, such as:
· 25 Days paid annual leave + Bank holidays

LOCATION: Slough
SALARY: Up to £25,000
DAYS OF WORK: Availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
HOURS OF WORK: 8am-4:30pm (40 hours per week)
(Some overtime out of these days/hours may be required and will be paid accordingly)
