Job Description: This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking, self motivated and flexible individual to handle a wide variety of countryside estate duties. The core responsibility will be General Grounds & Woodland Management and part time Game Keeping: work will include, but is not limited to:
- Felling trees, Cross cutting, Log splitting (with machinery), Billeting for biomass. tree & hedge planting and general woodland husbandry
- Clearing brash and brambles using tractors, flails, strimmer’s, and other handheld equipment Mowing, hedge cutting, and general clearance work
- Deer and squirrel management/control in accordance with Higher Tier Stewardship, including data recording (sightings, culls, tree damage)
- General estate groundsman activities such as fencing, ditching (using a digger), feeding livestock, trapping, pest control, and general maintenance & Upkeep
- Game keeping family pheasant shoot, duck ponds and healthy population of wild grey partridges that we are extremely keen to encourage
Skills & Experience Required/Preferred:
- Full UK driving license (required)
- Prior Game Keeping experience inc. Trapping, or real enthusiasm to learn
- Firearms & Shotgun license (required but can be discussed)
- Chainsaw/felling license (preferred)
- Spraying license (preferred)
- Experience with tractors, diggers, and telehandlers (preferred)
- Rat/mouse poison certificate / CRRU-approved training certificate (preferred)
- Fencing and fence maintenance skills (preferred)
Job Type: Part-time
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
