Job Title: Gardener / Garden Maintenance Operative

Location: Nottingham and surrounding areas

Pay: £12.50 – £15 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable gardener to join our small team at Green River. This is a hands-on role working across a range of private gardens.

This isn’t just weeding, pruning, and tidying. Our work is about bringing gardens to life and improving them over time. That includes encouraging biodiversity, supporting wildlife, and helping each space develop into something richer and more balanced.

You’ll be part of a team that looks beyond quick fixes and focuses on how a garden evolves, season by season.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lawn care (mowing, strimming, edging)
  • Weeding and thoughtful border maintenance
  • Hedge cutting and pruning
  • Planting perennials, bulbs, and trees
  • Supporting wildlife-friendly planting and habitat creation
  • Helping gardens improve naturally over time

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience preferred (gardening or outdoor work)
  • Driving licence highly desirable
  • A genuine love of nature is essential
  • Interest in wildlife, plants, and how gardens function as living systems
  • Reliable, physically fit, and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
  • Takes pride in doing a job properly, not just quickly
  • Able to work well in a small team
