Full job description

Job Purpose

To assist in the maintenance and development of the customers amenity horticultural areas as defined in the contract(s) specification(s) or as may be instructed by your line manager.

The successful candidate will primarily work on large energy utility networks and industrial areas.

Duties Under supervision as appropriate, the post holder may be required to undertake any of the following duties:-

  • Grass cutting (using 'ride-on' and pedestrian powered machines)
  • Weed control, using herbicides and cultural methods (full training provided)
  • Sweeping Litter-picking
  • Maintenance of shrub and flower beds
  • Hedge-cutting
  • Pruning
  • Winter de-icing and snow clearance

To undertake other duties as appropriate to the grading of the post as required from time to time which may include:-

  • Assisting in the planting of trees, shrubs and plants.
  • Assisting in the construction of hard and soft landscaping.
  • Caring for wildlife as appropriate.
  • Providing construction and landscape labouring assistance.
  • General cleaning duties as may be required by the contract specification
  • Maintaining tools and equipment in a clean and safe condition.
  • Completing all necessary paperwork as required.
