Grounds Maintenance Team Leader / Operative

Take pride in your work? Want to be part of a proper team that does things right? We’re hiring Grounds Maintenance Team Leaders and Operatives. If you’ve got integrity, work ethic, and back your teammates, we want to hear from you.

You’ll be part of a professional two-person team delivering grounds maintenance across schools, housing developments, and commercial sites.

Team Leaders will:

  • Run the daily schedule
  • Ensure work is completed to a high standard
  • Lead and support their operative
  • Keep the van and equipment organised

Operatives will:

  • Support the Team Leader on site
  • Take pride in completing work properly
  • Learn and develop within the role

What the Work Involves

  • Grass cutting (pedestrian and ride-on mowers)
  • Strimming, edging, and general maintenance such as hedge cutting, pruning, weed control, leaf clearance
  • Keeping sites clean, tidy, and presentable

This is hands-on, outdoor work in all conditions. It suits people who prefer being active and getting stuck in.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence (essential for Team Leaders, preferred for Operatives)
  • Grounds maintenance or similar experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Reliable and physically fit
  • Comfortable working outdoors year-round

Working Hours

  • March to October: Monday to Friday, 9 hours per day
  • November to February: Monday to Thursday, 8 hours per day
