Full job description

Great marketing helps people understand what is available, connects them with the right support and inspires them to take action. At YMCA Chiltern Group, we’re looking for an experienced Marketing & Campaigns Lead to create engaging, joined-up campaigns that reach the right audiences and deliver meaningful results. We are looking for someone who can transform a brief into a clear campaign and bring together powerful stories across different marketing channels.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the day-to-day delivery of our marketing and campaigns activity across a growing and ambitious charity. You’ll manage a team of two Marketing & Campaigns Executives, taking campaigns from brief through to delivery and evaluation. Your team will understand the audience, develop clear messages and coordinate activity across social media, email, websites, digital advertising and other agreed channels. Working closely with colleagues across YMCA Chiltern Group, you’ll help us promote our services, share compelling stories and create clear calls to action that support our wider priorities. This is an opportunity to bring creativity, structure and audience understanding together, helping our marketing become more joined-up, purposeful and effective.

What you’ll be doing:

You will lead the planning and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns, defining their objectives, priority audiences, key messages, calls to action, channel plans and measures of success. You’ll work with operational teams to understand their services, capacity, referral routes and audiences before recommending marketing activity. This will help ensure our campaigns support awareness, access and sustainable growth without overpromising what services can provide. A key part of the role will be identifying and shaping stories that show the difference our work makes. You’ll bring together evidence, lived experience and organisational priorities to create clear briefs for written, visual and multimedia content. You’ll oversee the quality and development of our website content, helping to keep information clear, current and focused. You’ll also maintain a joined-up approach across our social media, email, website and advertising activity. You’ll ensure that campaign objectives and measures are agreed from the outset, using results and learning to improve future activity and demonstrate the contribution marketing makes to our services and organisational goals.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for a marketing professional who enjoys turning ideas into clear, engaging campaigns. You’ll be creative, confident and supportive, able to set clear priorities and create an environment where people can do their best work. With excellent writing, editing and organisational skills, you’ll be comfortable working across websites, social media, email and digital advertising, while keeping activity joined up and focused on what audiences need. Just as importantly, you’ll be curious about what works and keen to learn from the results. You’ll use evidence and feedback to strengthen future campaigns and will build positive relationships across the organisation. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, thoughtful and values-led, and who can bring people together around a shared goal.

Why this role?

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and deliver marketing activity across one of the region’s largest YMCA organisations. You’ll be part of a talented team, work with a wide range of services and help ensure our campaigns are informed, grounded in evidence and connected to our wider purpose. Most importantly, you’ll help more people understand who we are, what we offer and how YMCA Chiltern Group can support them. Ready to create campaigns that connect people, strengthen services and inspire action? We’d love to hear from you. For an informal chat please contact our Marketing & Brand Manager, Portia. Portia.rohm@ymcacg.org

We offer flexible hybrid working, with colleagues typically spending around two days each week in the office to collaborate, connect and contribute to team life.

This is a Full time Permanent role.

One YMCA and its subsidiaries, the Early Childhood Partnership (ECP) and Signpost are on an exciting journey to double our impact by 2025. We are over half way through an exciting new strategy launched in the first hour of the new decade, via email where all staff and volunteers were invited to put themselves forward to apply and attend an intensive, three-day Kickstarter Event.

By the end of these three days, there was a brilliantly multi-faceted set of themes and ideas, which formed the starting point for the rest of the Mission 25 process to build on. The aim of Mission 25 is to give every staff member and volunteer the opportunity to play their part in shaping the strategy to do “more and better, together” so that we double our impact by 2025. We deliver a vast array of services across Herts, Beds and Bucks that reach over 135,000 individuals annually.

These include:

  • Provision of over 700 units of accommodation for homeless people
  • Move on accommodation for individuals moving onto independent living
  • Housing and practical/emotional support for young asylum seekers
  • Community HUBs hosting a range of activities and meeting space hire
  • Childcare provision in Hertfordshire
  • Family support through a network of children’s and family centres covering Hertfordshire and Bedford
  • Therapeutic and non-therapeutic support for male and female victims of domestic abuse and their children
  • Independent sexual violence services across Bedfordshire, Luton and Hertfordshire
  • Domestic abuse perpetrator reform programmes across Bedfordshire
  • Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 11-19 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund
  • A community gym where everyone can enjoy the benefits of physical exercise Our values remain at the forefront of how we operate as a charity, and it is important to us that all staff and volunteers can fully buy in to our ethos.
