HGV Class 2 Driver – Home Every Night

£31,000–£35,000 basic + monthly bonus + enhanced overtime + Saturday pay

Polegate/Hailsham | Full-time

About PJ

PJ is one of the leading skip hire, haulage and waste management companies in the South East. We've been going for more than 40 years, we're based between Polegate and Hailsham, and there are over 47 of us across the yard, the road and the office. Every load our drivers bring in gets sorted, segregated and recycled or recovered, so the job you do genuinely keeps waste out of landfill.

What your week looks like

  • Monday to Friday, 7.30am - 5pm (42.5 hours), plus the option to work alternate Saturday mornings (paid at Saturday rate) and overtime at an enhanced rate
  • Local and regional work - you're home every night
  • Driving a modern fleet of commercial vehicles from 7.5 to 18 tonnes: skip loaders, tippers, road sweepers and caged vans, with training provided across all of them
  • Plenty of variety. No two days the same, including the occassisonal stint helping out in the yard
  • Reporting to our Transport Planner, with paperwork kept simple through an in-cab handheld device and Driver App (we'll show you how)

What we're looking for

  • A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence, CPC and digi tacho card
  • Reliable, safety-minded and good with customers on site
  • Happy to turn your hand to different vehicles and shifts
  • A team player who gets stuck in
