Full job description
We're looking for a Full Stack Engineer to help build and evolve the services that support our customers and business. Working primarily within AWS serverless environments, you'll design and deliver scalable backend services, APIs and platform capabilities, while contributing across the full stack where required. You'll play a key role in enhancing our customer data platform, helping to deliver reliable, secure and efficient solutions that enable customer information to be managed and maintained seamlessly across our systems. As part of a collaborative engineering team, you'll contribute to the adoption of modern cloud-native technologies, GraphQL architectures and AI-enabled development practices.
What you'll be doing
- Design, develop and support scalable backend services and APIs.
- Build AWS serverless applications using modern engineering practices.
- Develop integrations with internal and external systems.
- Enhance platform capabilities for managing and maintaining customer data.
- Improve platform resilience, observability, performance and scalability.
- Contribute across the full stack, including React-based applications where required.
- Take ownership of features throughout the software development lifecycle, from design to production support.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews and technical design sessions.
- Collaborate with Product, Platform and Engineering teams to deliver customer value.
- Promote engineering excellence through automation, continuous improvement and modern development practices.
- Leverage AI and agentic tooling to improve engineering productivity and software delivery.
About you
You'll be a proactive engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and taking ownership of outcomes. You'll be comfortable working in cloud-native, distributed environments and have a passion for building high-quality, scalable software solutions.
Essential skills and experience
- Node.js and TypeScript.
- AWS and serverless application development.
- REST API design and development.
- Event-driven architectures (SNS, SQS or similar).
- DynamoDB and JSON data processing.
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, SST or similar).
- CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience building and integrating APIs.
- React and TypeScript experience.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable skills
- GraphQL API design and implementation.
- GraphQL federation and schema design.
- Experience migrating from REST to GraphQL architectures.
- Typesense, Elasticsearch or Contentful.
- OAuth and authentication flows.
- LaunchDarkly or feature management platforms.
- Grafana and observability tooling.
- Cross-account AWS architectures.

Interview process
This will be a 2-stage interview process including a technical task.
Working Schedule
Based in Bristol head office, BS2 0TR. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We offer a hybrid flex working pattern with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week.
