Full job description
We are looking for an experienced Site Agent to join our UKCS Living Places business, taking a leading role in the delivery of highway maintenance and improvement works across Lincolnshire.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site activities, leading supervisors, operatives and supply chain partners to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and right first time. This role combines structured planned works with a strong reactive element, requiring flexibility, sound judgement and excellent stakeholder management.
This is a key operational role where you will act as the link between operational teams, commercial colleagues and the client, ensuring performance targets, safety standards and programme commitments are consistently achieved.
What you'll be doing
- Providing leadership, management and control of site teams, including supervisors, operatives, schedulers and subcontractors
- Managing both planned and reactive highway works, ensuring defects and urgent issues are addressed promptly and effectively
- Allocating resources efficiently to meet workload demands, adjusting priorities as required to maintain performance and service levels
- Overseeing daily site operations to ensure productivity, quality and safety standards are met at all times
- Maintaining strong communication with the client and internal stakeholders, managing expectations around delivery, performance and issue resolution
- Monitoring works against contract KPIs and ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
- Carrying out site inspections, audits and safety tours, ensuring safe systems of work are implemented and followed
- Ensuring commercial awareness on site, supporting the tracking of jobs from planning through to completion
- Supporting supervisors with coaching, development and performance management, promoting a positive and high‑performing team culture
- Identifying risks, issues and resource pressures early and escalating where appropriate
- Coordinating with traffic management, street works and other third parties to deliver works safely and efficiently, including on complex or high‑impact sites
Who we're looking for
- Proven experience working as a Site Agent or similar role within highways, infrastructure or maintenance environments
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams and subcontractors
- A safety‑first mindset with a strong understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements
- SMSTS qualified, with a valid CSCS card and a full UK driving licence
- Confident decision‑maker with a proactive, solution‑focused approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with clients and operational teams
- Competent in site documentation, reporting and the use of IT systems
- Flexible and resilient, with the ability to manage reactive workloads and changing priorities
- A motivated team player who leads by example and takes ownership of delivering high standards

- Pension, share incentive plan, volunteering leave, recognition schemes and much more…
