Full job description

History Graduate (£24,066)

EdEx are pleased to announce that we are now representing a Trust of Schools located across both London & Hertfordshire. We have been tasked in finding aspiring teachers across all subjects through both salaried and unsalaried teaching routes.

This History Graduate opportunity is being offer as a "Earn, while you teach & learn" route - which in turn is a Salaried Schools Direct scheme.

Key points about the scheme:

  • Paid position on the Unqualified Teacher (UQT) scale (most commonly UQ1)
  • Employed directly by a school from day one
  • Higher initial teaching load, typically around 15 periods per week
  • Teaching load gradually increases to approximately 20 periods per week
  • One dedicated training day per week
  • Opportunity to gain QTS with PGCE (optional opt-out available if required)
  • Working at one School throughout - avoiding any conflict in different teaching styles (in turn reducing stress on teacher)

One of the Schools is now looking for an Aspiring History Teacher to join their Secondary School this September 2026. This is a full-time, term time only position with the school employing you directly.

You will be working across the History Department, supporting KS3-4 lessons, while having a focus on attainment & the quality of learning. This is the perfect opportunity if you're an aspiring History Teacher looking to gain experience before enrolling onto teacher training.

Does this sound like the History Graduate with a £24,066 permanent contract for you? If so, please read on below to find out further details

  • Strong focus on behaviour and routines, with Ofsted highlighting that behaviour has improved significantly and pupils are respectful and safe
  • Genuine commitment to staff development and teaching quality, with investment in training and subject expertise across the trust
