Sales Development Representative – Educational Travel
About Projects Abroad
Projects Abroad is a B Corp–certified educational travel organisation with a global footprint, operating since 1992. We create meaningful overseas programmes for schools, students, and young people, blending travel with hands-on learning, community engagement, and personal growth.
As part of our continued expansion, we’re focused on developing a more structured, scalable, and high-performing outbound sales function.
The Role
We’re seeking a Sales Development Executive to join our Partnerships team. This is a dynamic, high-activity outbound calling role, well-suited to someone who enjoys engaging with people, qualifying interest quickly, and creating new sales opportunities.
Your core objective will be to generate a pipeline by contacting schools and education leads, assessing suitability, and securing quality meetings for our Senior Partnership Managers. You won’t be responsible for closing deals or account management at this stage, success in this role is measured by the volume and quality of meetings booked.
This position is ideal for someone who performs well in a structured, target-led environment, stays motivated despite rejection, and enjoys the pace of high-volume outreach. Strong performance can lead to progression into B2C sales, B2B partnerships, or wider commercial roles.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Sales & Pipeline Generation
- Make outbound calls to high schools and colleges using pre-qualified contact lists, with a focus on conversations and meeting bookings
- Confidently engage key decision-makers (Heads of Department, Careers Leads, Senior Leadership Teams)
- Conduct structured qualification conversations using defined scripts to assess suitability and secure meetings
- Schedule meetings directly into the sales team’s calendars
- Keep CRM records accurate and up to date using HubSpot
Performance & Targets
- Meet clearly defined daily and weekly activity goals (calls, conversations, meetings booked)
- Maintain excellent data quality and CRM standards
- Consistency, resilience, and focus are essential to achieving results
About You
You’re organised, proactive, and motivated by targets, with the ability to quickly build rapport and communicate value clearly. You understand that rejection is part of outbound sales and stay focused and positive under pressure.
Essential
- Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls to senior decision-makers
- Confident, clear, and professional phone manner
- Highly organised, process-oriented, and driven by measurable outcomes
- Resilient, persistent, and able to maintain momentum
Desirable
- Previous experience in a call centre, telesales, or SDR role
- Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM platforms
- Exposure to education, travel, or B2B industries
Tools You’ll Use
- CRM: HubSpot
- Productivity: Google Workspace
Benefits
- £22,380 base salary with uncapped commission based on qualified meetings booked
- Hybrid working (Brighton-based, office or remote)
- Initial 6-month fixed-term contract with potential to become permanent
- Clear targets, transparent expectations, and direct impact on company growth
- Fast-track progression opportunities into commercial roles
