We are seeking a passionate and dedicated CAMHS Nurse to join our Clinical Lead, LD Nurse and team of Psychotherapist’s. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, and delivering holistic care to children and adolescents experiencing various mental health conditions. As a CAMHS Nurse, you will work closely with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to provide evidence-based interventions and support to empower young individuals and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and adolescents presenting with mental health concerns, including psychiatric evaluations and risk assessments.

Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, considering the unique needs and preferences of each patient.

Provide therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy, and psychoeducation, to support the emotional and psychological well-being of patients and their families.

Administer medications and monitor their effectiveness and side effects, ensuring compliance with prescribed treatment regimens.

Foster a therapeutic environment that promotes trust, safety, and emotional support for patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.

Collaborate with community resources, schools, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless continuity of care and support for patients transitioning between different care settings.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Qualified Registered Nurse with active NMC Registration

At least 2 years nursing experience working within an NHS environment.

Specialization or certification in mental health nursing or child and adolescent mental health preferred.

Proven experience working in a CAMHS or similar mental health setting, providing direct care to children and adolescents with diverse mental health needs.

Knowledge of NMC standards guidelines, requests and professional practices.

Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.

Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and interventions for treating common mental health disorders in children and adolescents.

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.

Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on best practices and emerging trends in CAMHS and mental health nursing.
