Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
Location: Cumbria
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our dynamic mental health team in Cumbria. The successful candidate will provide care and support to individuals with various mental health conditions, promoting recovery, independence, and well-being. This role involves working across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings to deliver patient-cantered care in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to individuals experiencing acute or chronic mental health issues.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to each patient’s unique mental health needs.
- Administer medications and therapeutic interventions, monitoring for side effects and patient response.
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families, offering guidance and education on mental health conditions.
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and ensure all interventions are safe, appropriate, and in line with best practices.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and other mental health support programs aimed at promoting well-being and resilience.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting care and progress in accordance with professional standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to clinical decision-making.
- Promote recovery-focused approaches, encouraging patients to actively engage in their treatment and care plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and manage mental health emergencies in both inpatient and community settings.
- Ensure adherence to mental health legislation, safeguarding policies, and NHS standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC Pin.
- Experience in mental health nursing, ideally within inpatient, outpatient, or community settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build therapeutic relationships.
- Empathetic and able to work with individuals experiencing distressing symptoms.
- Knowledge of mental health legislation and the Mental Health Act.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and managing challenging behaviours (preferred).
