Overview
Ribble Recruitment are looking for a dedicated Substance Misuse Practitioner to join our client's multidisciplinary team. This role involves providing specialised support and intervention programmes to individuals experiencing substance misuse issues. The successful candidate will play a vital part in promoting recovery, improving health outcomes, and fostering community well-being. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ substance misuse history and current needs
  • Develop personalised care plans in collaboration with clients, ensuring they are tailored to individual circumstances
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions, including counselling, education, and behavioural therapies
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
  • Provide advice on nutrition, lifestyle changes, and health management as part of holistic care
  • Facilitate group sessions and workshops on topics such as addiction awareness and relapse prevention
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with organisational policies
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social services, and community organisations to coordinate care
  • Support clients in navigating available resources and services for ongoing recovery

Skills

  • Proven experience or background in Nursing or Public Health is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology relevant to substance misuse and mental health
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and teaching abilities, to effectively engage diverse audiences
  • Ability to deliver clear, empathetic advice and support tailored to individual needs
  • Organised with the ability to manage multiple cases whilst maintaining attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Nutrition principles that support recovery and overall well-being
  • Compassionate approach with a commitment to client confidentiality and ethical practice
