About the Role

As Lecturer in Education Mental Health Practitioner Training, you will have the opportunity to Teach on and assess the work of Education Mental Health Practitioners, Senior Wellbeing Practitioners and Supervisors working in Mental Health Support Teams.

You will also act as a link between Edge Hill University and the Mental Health Support Teams where trainees are based to ensure holistic pastoral and academic support for the students.

This role is to Clinical Psychologists, Registered Mental Health Nurses, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers or others with a child and young person’s background. Qualifications in therapeutic interventions such as CBT/IAPT/PWP (psychological therapies) and preferably, a Supervision qualification would be essential.

You will be expected to contribute to the research activities of one of our Research Units and meet the qualitative and quantitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence exercise.

About You

As Lecturer in Education Mental Health Practitioner Training, you will have contemporary interdisciplinary experience and knowledge/practice in child and adolescent mental health or education, ideally with experience of working within or alongside a Mental Health Support Team (MHST).

Experience of working in education is beneficial, including teaching and assessing skills and knowledge related to the roles within a Mental Health Support Team. Past experience in relevant fields will ensure a breadth of knowledge which is relevant to the role.

To be successful you will further enrich our student’s experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced through your qualifications and extensive experience of professional practice. In return, you will join a forward thinking and dynamic team that pushes the boundaries of curriculum development within the Department of Allied Health, Social Work and Wellbeing.
