About us
We are a locally family owned company led by a team who have been firmly established over 20 years as an Outstanding provider of services for Children.
This is an opportunity for the right candidate to break ground with a new provision, setting the highest standards for recruitment, training, and service delivery. The home is for 5 young people over two homes. All of our young people have developmental trauma, and we use our therapy team to support staff to work with this. All our young people are aged between 9 to 17 years old.
MUST HAVE FULL RIGHTS TO WORK IN THE UK - NO SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE
MUST ALREADY HOLD DIPLOMA / NVQ LEVEL 3 IN CHILDREN’S RESIDENTIAL CARE.
MUST HAVE A FULL MANUAL DRIVING LICENCE
Safeguarding our young people is paramount, as is our core ethos of providing quality care, and education within a holistic, therapeutic environment. All candidates must share this ethos.
All candidates undergo a robust recruitment process and Enhanced DBS checking against the Children’s Barred List. All staff who are involved in recruitment have gone through a stringent 'Safer Recruitment Course'.
We are looking for candidates who:
· Have experience as a deputy or senior in a residential children's home setting.
· Are qualified in the relevant qualification (or equivalent) at least to NVQ level 3
· Flexible and dedicated to the company ethos and vision.
To manage the resources of the home and to provide a positive therapeutic and educational living experience for the resident children and young people
- To lead the team to deliver high-quality care to our young people
- To ensure that all risks are safely managed in line with the company policies and procedures
- To communicate effectively with the team regarding the plans for the day
- To review the young people's care plans and other associated documentation
- To undertake an in-depth quality and bespoke training package
- To attend/chair staff meetings and be proactive in developing and improving the service model
- To act as an advocate for the young person whilst using a positive parenting model
- To work with young people using positive support strategies including de-escalation tools and techniques using in-house training
- To provide support to the Manager in completing day-to-day tasks
- To run the home in the absence of the Manager
- To complete on-call duties as and when required
Job Requirements
- To provide positive parenting
- To have exceptional communication skills
- To have sound working knowledge of current legislation e.g. Children's Homes Regulations 2015 (including quality standards)
- To provide support and positive role modelling to the staff team (including completing supervision)
- To be open-minded, empathetic in a calm and professional manner
- To attend meetings etc on behalf of the Manager in a professional manner
Essential Requirements
- Must have a full manual driving licence
- Must be fully flexible and have the ability to work unsociable shift patterns
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent
- The desire to develop into a Registered Childrens Home Manager
- To participate in further continuing professional development and support the needs of our young people
- To have a clear passion and desire to support children and young people
- To be an active member of a progressive and committed team
