Full job description

Part-Time B2B Appointment Setter / Business Development Representative

Location: Northampton / Hybrid
Hours: Part-time, approximately 10–15 hours per week
Contract: Initial paid trial with the opportunity to develop into an ongoing role

About the business

We are a specialist marketing business working exclusively with financial-services firms, including financial advisers, wealth managers, financial planners and mortgage businesses.

We help firms generate new business, improve their digital presence and strengthen their marketing through lead-generation campaigns, AI-enabled websites and ongoing marketing support.

We already have a proven target market, established offers and an experienced founder-led sales process. We are now looking for a capable and reliable appointment setter or BDR to help us create more qualified sales conversations.

The role

You will be responsible for identifying suitable prospects, starting conversations, qualifying potential opportunities and booking meetings for the founder to close.

This is not a role where success is measured by sending large volumes of generic messages. We are looking for someone who can communicate confidently, understand whether a prospect is commercially suitable and book genuine opportunities.

The role will initially focus on LinkedIn outreach and follow-up, with some telephone and email activity where appropriate.

Key responsibilities

  • Research and identify suitable financial-services firms and decision-makers
  • Contact prospects through LinkedIn, email and telephone
  • Start relevant, professional business conversations
  • Follow up warm prospects and previous conversations
  • Qualify prospects based on firm size, need, budget, urgency and decision-making authority
  • Book qualified meetings into the founder’s diary
  • Confirm appointments and reduce no-shows
  • Maintain simple and accurate prospect and follow-up records
  • Provide clear notes and context before each booked meeting
  • Help improve outreach messaging and targeting based on results

Ideal candidate

You may be a strong fit if you have:

  • Experience in B2B appointment setting, business development, telesales or sales development
  • Confidence speaking with business owners and senior decision-makers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using LinkedIn for prospecting
  • Good follow-up and organisational habits
  • The ability to identify genuine commercial opportunities
  • A reliable, self-directed approach to part-time work
  • A focus on quality rather than simply booking as many meetings as possible

Experience working with financial services, professional services, marketing agencies, SaaS businesses or other B2B sectors would be useful but is not essential.

What success looks like

Success will be measured through:

  • Qualified meetings booked
  • Meetings that attend
  • Quality of the prospects booked
  • Website, marketing and lead-generation opportunities created
  • Clear and consistent follow-up
  • Revenue generated from your appointments

We are not interested in filling the diary with poorly qualified meetings.

What we offer

  • Flexible part-time hours
  • An initial paid trial
  • Hourly pay with performance-related incentives
  • A clearly defined target market and established sales offer
  • Direct support from an experienced founder and closer
  • The opportunity to develop into a larger BDR or sales role
  • Potential for increased hours and responsibility when results are strong

How to apply

Please apply with a short message covering:

  • Your relevant appointment-setting or business-development experience
  • The types of businesses or decision-makers you have contacted
  • The outreach channels you are most confident using
  • Any results you can share, including meetings booked, attendance rates or sales generated
  • Your current availability and preferred hourly rate

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a brief conversation and may be asked to complete a simple outreach or qualification exercise.

Pay: £16.00-£22.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule
  • On-site parking

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Northampton (Northamptonshire)
