Job Title:

Paraplanner Support

Reports To:
The Paraplanner Support team report to Head of Support.

Job Overview:
To work within a team of supporting paraplanners providing comprehensive, confidential and efficient technical support to Financial Planners and advisers.

The role is about supporting Timebank Paraplanners by taking responsibility for obtaining and managing data from financial providers, inputting that data into our bespoke back office systems and effectively managing your workload to achieve productivity goals.

You may also be required to produce illustrations; undertake research and proof read cases.

As you progress, you will take responsibility for your own cases and you also have the option to work towards a level 6 qualification if you want to.

The ideal candidate will be in or have experience of a Paraplanning, technical or senior administration role. Financial qualifications are desirable but not essential, above all else we want individuals with sparkle and tenacity and we expect you to have utmost integrity in all you do, and to carry an attitude of ownership in all issues you encounter.

Managing your expectations:

· Paraplanning support is a hard job. Outsourced paraplanning support is even harder.

· The first 6 months can feel daunting as you adjust.

· As such, we operate a 6-month probationary period as we try to ease you into this unique working environment.

· Our clients have very different ways of doing things, so you will get exposure to a huge diversity of cases.

· We have very high standards with our clients, so we will encourage you to achieve or excel these standards.

· You will experience unusual cases and run of the mill cases.

· We expect you to take responsibility for your career and we will help you progress at whatever rate suits you best.

· We actively encourage ongoing financial services qualifications and cover the cost of exams on success and appropriate training courses.

Initial Remuneration & Benefits:
Starting salaries are determined by a matrix that takes into account both experience and qualifications. Salaries are reviewed annually, but are not guaranteed to increase.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Identify and obtain information to allow financial plan to be created.

· Obtaining data from providers, either by telephone or online.

· Ensuring requests for data are completed fully.

· Sense checking data received to ensure it is accurate.

· Collaborate with team members on any areas of development regarding the information obtained to allow financial plan to be created.

· Acting as a critical friend to financial planners and advisers.

· Maintain good communication and manage relationships with financial planners and advisers.

· Delegate to, educate and learn from other members of the team.

· Undertake product research to assist financial planners in creating a financial plan that meets their client objectives.

· Help create clear, concise financial planning reports that are technically accurate and compliant.

· Potentially undertake other tasks as part of creating a financial plan:

· Illustrations

· Cash flow reports

· Analysis of current and revised investment strategies

· Maintain CPD.

· Manage your diary with discipline.

Qualifications/Skills:
· We would like you to have some financial planning experience with some qualifications aiming for level 4, although we are happy to train you if you have the right skills and personality.

· A basic knowledge of financial services products is useful but not essential.

· Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel (essential), provider platforms, pension profiling and investment research software (desirable).

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail (essential).

· Able to manage workload and have good self-discipline and take responsibility for actions (essential).

· Follow processes and maintain standards as set out by the business (essential) and its clients (essential).
