Remit

Compass Associates have been exclusively mandated to source an experienced Operations Quality Assessor for an organisation within the UK. Following significant investment and rapid expansion across the market, the group is looking to expand its quality function.

This is a unique opportunity to join the quality team, supporting the oversight of quality, governance and regulatory compliance across a diverse portfolio of elderly care homes.

This position is centred around independent quality assurance rather than operational turnaround. You will be responsible for conducting quality monitoring visits, identifying emerging risks, reviewing governance frameworks and producing professional reports that provide assurance and strategic insight to senior leadership.

Reporting directly into the Senior Quality Manager, this autonomous role offers significant flexibility, allowing you to manage your own diary whilst travelling nationally to assess services.

Key Points

  • Home-based position with travel across the UK (2 days a week in the field, 3 days from home).
  • Independently assess quality, governance and regulatory compliance across the portfolio.
  • Conduct quality monitoring visits and produce evidence-based audit reports.
  • Review quality indicators including safeguarding, incidents, statutory notifications and regulatory activity.
  • Identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities across multiple care providers.
  • Build effective relationships with operators whilst maintaining professional independence and objectivity.
  • Flexible working environment with autonomy to manage your own workload and travel schedule.

As the Operations Quality Assessor, you will play a key role in providing the business with assurance that its care homes continue to deliver safe, high-quality care. Through detailed assessments, governance reviews and professional reporting, you will support informed decision-making across the organisation whilst maintaining the highest standards of independence and integrity.

Requirements

  • Experience within quality assurance, governance or compliance monitoring within elderly care.
  • Previous experience conducting audits, inspections or quality assessments within care home settings.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and quality frameworks.
  • Excellent report writing, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently whilst managing a national workload.
  • Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with a current NMC PIN.
  • Previous experience within CQC or another regulatory body would be highly desirable.
  • Corporate quality monitoring experience within a large care provider is advantageous.
  • Experience with large providers is beneficial
  • Candidates with both regulatory and provider-side quality experience will be particularly well suited.

Location

This is a home-based position with national travel. Candidates based within the North Midlands or South of England are particularly encouraged to apply due to the geographical coverage of the portfolio.

Travel Requirements

  • Approximately two site visits per week.
  • Three days per week allocated for report writing and quality analysis.
  • Occasional travel to London for team meetings and training.

Interview Process

The interview process will consist of three stages:

  • Stage One – Initial interview with Tom Berrisford & Kiley Cox, Compass Associates.
  • Stage Two – Cultural fit interview.
  • Stage Three – Competency and assessment-based interview

Summary

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced quality or governance professional looking to join one of the most exciting organisations in the UK elderly care sector. The organisation offer the opportunity to work autonomously within a highly experienced team, influencing quality across a national care portfolio whilst benefiting from a flexible, home-based role and excellent long-term career prospects.

In return, the organisation is offering a salary of £55,000 - £68,000 per annum, plus a 15% annual bonus and the opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation with genuine scope for progression.
