The role

As Head of Centre 56 you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Centre 56, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, trauma-informed services for children and families affected by domestic abuse and crisis.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Overall performance, sustainability and growth of the charity.
  • Delivery of the Centre 56 Business Plan and strategic objectives.
  • Safeguarding, regulatory compliance and Ofsted readiness.
  • Financial management and income generation.
  • Building partnerships to increase reach, referrals and impact.

This role will ensure Centre 56 delivers its vision of a safe, nurturing and empowering environment where children and families can thrive and build stable futures

The right fit

  • You have significant leadership experience within either: Children’s services / early years / family support / charity sector
  • Experience of working in trauma-informed or safeguarding-focused environments.
  • Strong financial management and budget control experience.
  • Demonstrable success in income generation (fundraising, grants, partnerships) with the ability to build and sustain high value partnerships would be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding
  • An understanding of EYFS and Ofsted frameworks would be an advantage.
  • Experience of compliance in the charitable sector.
  • Ability to use data to drive decision-making and performance.
  • Experience of KPI reporting, impact measurement and social value reporting is desirable.
  • You’re values-driven with a passion for supporting children and families.
  • Excellent communication skills with resilience, adaptability and solutions-focused mindset.
