WE’RE HIRING – ASSISTANT MANAGER - The Hook, Warsash

We’re looking for an experienced, energetic Assistant Manager to join the management team at The Hook.

This is a great role for someone who loves proper hospitality — great food, great service and looking after customers — but who is equally comfortable when the lights go down, the music goes up and the venue gets busy.

The Hook is a lively, fast-moving pub with a strong food trade, live entertainment, sport, events and busy late-night sessions. No two shifts are quite the same.

THE ROLE

Working alongside the General Manager, you’ll help lead the day-to-day operation of the pub, with a particular focus on:

  • Delivering excellent food and drink service
  • Leading and motivating the front-of-house team
  • Maintaining high standards across the venue
  • Managing busy services and large-volume trading periods
  • Helping develop the team through training and hands-on leadership
  • Driving sales, upselling and the overall customer experience
  • Supporting rotas, labour control, stock and general pub operations
  • Being confident taking control of the venue during busy evenings, weekends and late-night events
  • Working closely with the kitchen to make sure food service runs smoothly and consistently

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We want someone with a genuine hospitality background who understands that great pubs are built around service, standards and atmosphere.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous supervisory or management experience within pubs, bars or restaurants
  • Strong experience within food-led hospitality
  • Experience working in busy, high-volume environments
  • Confidence managing late-night trade, entertainment or events
  • A hands-on approach — this isn’t an office management role
  • Strong people skills and the ability to lead from the front
  • Good organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability to stay calm and make decisions when the venue is extremely busy
  • A positive attitude and plenty of personality

We’re looking for someone who wants to become a key part of The Hook and help us keep pushing the venue forward.

Pay: £26,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
