Full job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Equestrian Groom to join our team at a professional private yard with 24 stables. The position is 8-5pm, 5 days per week on a rota basis (40 hours)

This is a varied hands on role, ideal for someone who is confident and experienced around big, fit competition horses and enjoys working as part of a small, dedicated team.

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of day-to-day horse care and yard management, including:

* Mucking out and maintaining the stables

*Grooming and preparing competition horses to a high standard

*Turning horses out and bringing them in

*Feeding & preparing haynets

*Groundwork and hacking

*Tack cleaning

*General horse care, tacking up and preparing horses to go to competitons

*Assisting with vet, physio, dentist & farrier visits

*Using and maintaining the water treadmill and cold spa

*Maintaining a clean, organised and professional yard

The ideal candidate will be:

Experienced and confident with competition horses

Passionate about excellent horse care and welfare

Reliable, hardworking and organised

Able to work independently and as part of professional team

Attention to detail, with high standards of cleanliness and presentation

Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions

Able to drive a 3.5 ton horsebox (Over age 21 & clean license)

Previous experience in a competition yard is highly desiable

Pay: £12.71 per hour
