Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of clients, ensuring they receive respectful and personalised care. Experience in senior care, dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, or child care is highly desirable. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through attentive caregiving and support.

Duties

  • Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
  • Provide specialised care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
  • Support patients with medication administration following prescribed protocols
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
  • Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional wellbeing
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Support with mobility and transfer using appropriate techniques and equipment
  • Drive clients to appointments or outings as required
  • Monitor health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to ensure a calm and supportive environment
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance quality of life for clients

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings preferred
  • Knowledge of patient care practices, including dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care
  • Certification or training in first aid is advantageous
  • Valid driving licensee is desirable for transportation duties
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
  • Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
  • Flexibility to work shifts as needed; previous caregiving or nursing experience is beneficial but not essential
