Catering Assistant – 25 Hours per Week

Location: Dalriada Reason for Vacancy: Long‑term sickness cover Start: Immediate Rota: 4‑week repeating rota (details below)

Role Overview

The Catering Assistant will support the kitchen team in providing high‑quality meal service to residents. This includes basic food preparation, serving meals, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring the kitchen and dining areas are kept clean and safe. Due to several short shifts, this role is best suited to someone living locally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with food preparation and serving meals
  • Maintaining kitchen cleanliness, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
  • Following food safety and hygiene procedures
  • Supporting the cook and wider catering team
  • Ensuring dietary needs and portion controls are followed
  • Safe handling and storage of food
  • Working professionally with staff and residents

4‑Week Rota Pattern

Week 1

  • Mon: Off
  • Tues: Off
  • Wed: 10:30–17:30
  • Thurs: 10:30–17:30
  • Fri: 07:00–12:00
  • Sat: 14:30–17:30
  • Sun: 14:30–17:30

Week 2

  • Mon: 07:00–14:00
  • Tues: 07:00–14:00
  • Wed: Off
  • Thurs: Off
  • Fri: 14:30–17:30
  • Sat: 07:00–13:00
  • Sun: 07:00–13:00
