Job Overview

CLOSING DATE: MONDAY JULY 6TH - INTERVIEWS TO BE HELD THE WEEK OF THE 13TH JULY.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Clinical Coder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately coding patient data, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting clinical documentation processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong analytical skills and a passion for healthcare data management to contribute to improving patient care and organisational efficiency.

Duties

  • Analyse clinical documentation to assign accurate diagnostic and procedural codes using recognised coding standards.
  • Ensure all coding complies with relevant healthcare regulations and organisational policies.
  • Utilise computerised systems, including DOCMAN and EMIS.
  • Maintain meticulous records of coding activities and updates for audit purposes.
  • Support quality assurance processes by reviewing coded data for accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist in training or mentoring new team members on coding procedures and system usage where required.
  • Stay updated with changes in coding standards, healthcare regulations, and technological advancements.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in clinical coding or health information management.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in clinical coding.
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex clinical data accurately.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Good IT literacy, including familiarity with healthcare information systems. Candidates should possess a keen eye for detail, strong organisational abilities, and excellent communication skills to excel in this role. Prior experience in healthcare settings or familiarity with medical terminology is essential.
