GP Administrator

Spring Hall Practice Group | Full-Time or Part-Time | Competitive Salary & Excellent Benefits

Spring Hall Practice Group has an exciting opportunity for an organised and motivated GP Administrator to join our friendly and supportive team on a permanent, full-time or part-time basis.

We are a well-established and growing GP Practice Group with five surgeries, dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the health and wellbeing of our local communities.

About the Role

As a GP Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the clinical team by ensuring administrative processes are completed accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with GPs, nurses, reception staff, and external healthcare providers to ensure patients receive timely and effective care.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a busy, fast-paced healthcare environment. Full training will be provided, making this role suitable for both experienced administrators and those looking to begin a career in primary care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process referrals, appointments, and clinical correspondence accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing patient correspondence, including hospital letters and clinical documents.
  • Support clinicians with administrative tasks, ensuring patient records are updated and maintained accurately.
  • Process prescription requests and other clinical administration in line with Practice policies.
  • Liaise with hospitals, community services, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
  • Ensure all patient information is handled confidentially and in accordance with GDPR and NHS guidance.
  • Maintain accurate electronic patient records using the Practice clinical system.
  • Respond to administrative queries from patients and colleagues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support the wider Administration and Patient Services teams as required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative processes and patient services.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous administrative experience is desirable but not essential. Experience within a GP Practice, NHS, or healthcare setting would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A flexible, proactive approach and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care.
  • An understanding of patient confidentiality and information governance.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary.
  • NHS Pension Scheme.
  • Ongoing training and career development opportunities.
  • Supportive and friendly working environment.
  • Employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • The opportunity to join a forward-thinking and expanding Practice Group committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

If you are an enthusiastic administrator who enjoys working in a busy healthcare environment and wants to make a real difference to patient care, we would love to hear from you.
