Café Manager – Brick Bank Café

£29,459 per annum (FT) | Full-time preferred | Part-time considered (minimum 4 days)
Bingley | Weekend working required

Are you passionate about great food, good coffee and creating a welcoming place for people to enjoy?

Do you have café or hospitality experience and the confidence to take the lead in a busy, growing café?

If so, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Café Manager to join us at Brick Bank Café in Bingley and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the café.

About Brick Bank Café

Brick Bank Café opened in June 2025 and works in partnership with Specialist Autism Services and Sacar to raise awareness of autism and support people on the autism spectrum. All profits from the café go towards supporting people on the autism spectrum, so every coffee, cake and meal we serve helps make a difference.

We’re proud to be building a café that’s not only a great place to eat and drink, but also has a real purpose at the heart of the local community.

About the role

As our Café Manager, you’ll be at the heart of making that happen.

You’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the café, working alongside our Social Enterprise Coordinator, Board of Directors, café cooks, staff and volunteers to make sure we provide good quality food and drink, excellent customer service and a welcoming environment for everyone.

You’ll have plenty of opportunity to put your own ideas into practice. We’re looking for someone who is happy to experiment, respond to what our customers want and help us develop the café as the business grows.

You’ll be responsible for things such as:

  • Leading the day-to-day running of the café and Lego area
  • Preparing and serving high-quality food and drinks
  • Supporting, training and coordinating staff and volunteers
  • Managing stock, ordering supplies and minimising waste
  • Maintaining food hygiene, health and safety and cleanliness standards
  • Monitoring daily income and expenditure and working with our Finance Team
  • Working closely with our café cooks to develop the menu, introduce new ideas and respond to customer preferences and seasonal changes
  • Building positive relationships with customers and encouraging customer loyalty
  • Dealing confidently and positively with customer queries or issues
  • Working with the Social Enterprise Coordinator and Board of Directors to identify commercial opportunities
  • Helping to promote the café through social media and local contacts
  • Making sure the café consistently delivers a high-quality experience

About you

We’re looking for someone who is positive, energetic and genuinely enjoys working with people.

You’ll need experience of working in a café, hospitality or customer service environment, as well as the ability to stay organised and make decisions when things get busy.

You’ll ideally have some experience of supervising others, and experience in a catering management role and/or barista experience would be a real advantage.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who:

  • Takes pride in providing great food, drinks and customer service
  • Enjoys working in a busy and sometimes fast-changing environment
  • Can organise, prioritise and delegate effectively
  • Is confident supporting and motivating staff and volunteers
  • Can hold people to account while still being supportive
  • Has a positive, can-do attitude
  • Is open to new ideas and willing to try different things
  • Takes ownership and is happy to get stuck in
  • Can make quick and effective decisions when needed
  • Has excellent attention to detail and culinary skills
  • Is flexible and able to work during our opening hours, including weekends and holidays

You’ll also need a Food Hygiene qualification, with a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate desirable.

Why join us?

This is a really exciting time to join Brick Bank Café.

You won’t simply be stepping into an established café manager role – you’ll have the opportunity to help shape and develop a growing social enterprise, influence what we offer and play a key part in its future success.

Alongside a fun working environment, we offer:

  • £29,459 per annum
  • Full-time hours, with part-time considered for the right person (minimum 4 days)
  • Company pension
  • Employee Wellness Programme
  • Free on-site parking
  • The opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing a new venture

If you’re someone who loves hospitality, enjoys being around people and would relish the opportunity to help us make Brick Bank Café a really special place in the local community, we’d love to hear from you.

Come and help us build something great at Brick Bank Café.
