Full job description

Hourly salary: Up to £17 per hour including Service Charge

Recognised as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026 for the second year in a row, Kricket is a collection of modern Indian restaurants that combine British ingredients with the flavours and aromas of India. Having started life in a 20-seater shipping container at Pop Brixton, Kricket now operates permanent locations in Brixton, Canary Wharf and Shoreditch alongside our award-winning bar concept, SOMA. The group is looking to grow further in London and internationally.

Our Soho restaurant is located just a one-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus. It's an oasis in the heart of the city, with a theatre kitchen, counter seating, and long sharing tables. With exciting plans for growth, this is a fantastic time to join our journey!

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Senior Host to join the Soho team! Someone who can run the door with ease, managing seven rooms confidently to maximise covers before the shift and during. You will be responsible for enhancing the guests experience by bringing prior knowlegde, personailty, and bundles of energy. Our Hosts get stuck into service during quieter moments, helping the wider team take orders, run food and drink, and interact with guests. This role also includes one reservation shift per week, and the perfect candidate will be flexible in supporting other Kricket restaurants with Host shifts when needed.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • An experienced host from high-volume venues with a casual fine-dining rhythm, who understands that the door sets the tone for the entire guest experience.
  • A confident anchor for the floor, someone with a real awareness of the pace and flow of service, who can read a full room and manage the door to keep service moving seamlessly.
  • Strong reservations experience, and the commercial instinct to own the diary: maximising covers whilst protecting the flow of service.
  • A charismatic, genuinely warm presence who makes every guest feel recognised- and who understands our brand, our team culture and, above all, our guests.
  • A supportive, collaborative team player who lifts those around them and leads by example.
  • Calm and assured under pressure, with the judgement and confidence to turn a situation around without missing a beat.
  • Skilled at handling guest concerns with grace- turning a difficult moment into a lasting positive impression.
  • A genuine passion for service, people and hospitality.
  • Flexible and hands-on, happy to take ownership of a weekly reservations shift and to support our other sites when needed.

WHAT WE OFFER

Reward Yourself

  • 50% off the total bill, across the group at any time, any day, for you and up to 3 guests.
  • Cost price wine.
  • Extra day of holiday after two years with the company (capped at 35 days).
  • Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day off.
  • Code membership
  • Employee referral scheme up to £500.

Be Yourself

  • Membership to Hospitality Rewards, with 24/7 access to its Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for mental, emotional, and financial support alongside hundreds of discounts.
  • Access to Wagestream, which allows you to access a portion of your earned wages in real-time.
  • Loyalty rewards, including a 5-year anniversary dinner with the founders, a once-in-a-lifetime trip to India, and a 5-week paid sabbatical.
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity pay & Baby First Aid classes for new parents.
  • Free mortgage advice.

Progress Yourself

  • Personal development plans.
  • Regular training sessions (both internal and external).
  • WSET courses for relevant roles.
  • Regular supplier trips.

We believe in a culture that promotes inclusivity and respect - everyone is welcome!
