We are looking for Hosts on a part time basis, paying £14.80 per hour to join the Freight Brixton team! You will need to be available for work Thursday - Sunday.

Following the success of Freight Island in Manchester, Freight are expanding to London! A new rooftop location above the arches in the heart of Brixton, the site has capacity for 1000, with 3 bars and 4 food vendors on site.

An urban oasis, there will be an eclectic mix of food markets and bars set against an industrial backdrop. Blurring the lines between a food hall and a festival, Freight’s unique set up reflects the times. It provides a safe and comfortable environment where guests can enjoy delicious food, great drinks and live entertainment without any worries.

You MUST have weekend availability to be considered.

We are look for an organised individual to help us with the smooth running of reservations - you will be the first person our guests interact with, and the last person they see when they leave! You will create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere where our guests can enjoy the Freight Island experience. Working in a fast-paced environment, we cover a lot of ground! You must work with a sense of urgency and take pride in the levels of service that you are giving to our customers at all times.

You will show guests to their tables, make polite chit chat and offer menu advice. Once seated, you will explain the full steps of service to guests - the app, how to order, where the bathrooms are and answering any questions they may have. It is also your responsibility to ensure guests leave their table on time - a polite reminder 15 mins prior to them leaving!

You will need experience with online booking systems such as Design My Night and a warm, inclusive attitude - willing to pitch in during service if the floor team needs help in clearing/relaying tables.

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

· Giving guests a warm welcome and fond farewell as they enter and leave the venue – that first and last impression is everything!

· Liaising with the Security & the Management team

· Supporting the Management team in taking reservations and responding to all emails promptly and professionally

· Having full knowledge of the site including floor plans, directions, opening times, menus, events and contact information for the unit site, directors and traders.

· Assisting guests in making a reservation, ensuring they know what they are booking and where

· Handling all guest questions and requests effectively.

· Showing guests through to their tables, making polite chit chat and offering menu advice. Once seated, explaining the full steps of service to guests, explaining the app, how to order, where the bathrooms are and answering any questions they may have. It is also our responsibility to ensure guests leave their table on time - a polite reminder 15 mins prior to them leaving

· Checking the table plan and ensuring that tables are set accordingly (chairs neatly pushed under, matching furniture, clean QR codes etc)

· Familiarising yourself with any special requests each day

· Dealing with deposits/tickets/pre-orders and keeping the bar updated.

· Ensuring all appropriate cleaning duties are carried out - the host desk should be cleared out of any rubbish at the end of every day. The office should be clean and tidy, at all times.

· We work in a fast-paced environment, and we have to cover a lot of ground. It is expected that you work with a sense of urgency and take pride in the levels of service that you are giving both to our customers and to our vendors.
