About us

The Secret Garden Spa is part of The Jubilee Hotel, an independent hotel on Weymouth’s seafront. We welcome hotel guests, local residents and visitors looking for a little time to relax, whether they are booking an individual treatment, a couples experience or a spa break.

Our spa offers massage, facials, hand and foot care, and a private hot tub and sauna garden. With packages connecting the spa to hotel stays and dining at Three Chimneys Smokehouse & Grill, we offer a varied and personal experience for our guests.

We are looking for a qualified, experienced therapist with the confidence, organisation and people skills to become our Spa Supervisor.

The role

You will play an active part in delivering treatments while overseeing the spa’s daily operation. You will help organise appointments, support colleagues, maintain standards and work closely with hotel management to make sure guests receive a warm welcome and attentive care throughout their visit.

This role would suit an existing supervisor or an experienced senior therapist ready to take the next step, with a practical approach and a willingness to get involved in every part of the spa’s day.

Your responsibilities

• Deliver professional massage, facial and other spa treatments within your recognised qualifications, training and agreed scope of practice.
• Organise the daily treatment diary, matching appointments to therapists’ qualifications and allowing appropriate time for consultations, room preparation, cleaning and breaks.
• Help plan staff rotas and cover with hotel management, keeping the spa organised during both busy and quieter periods.
• Lead by example in guest care, presentation, punctuality, teamwork and treatment standards.
• Support colleagues and new starters with the spa’s procedures, identify development needs and coordinate appropriate training with management.
• Ensure consultations, consent, treatment records and aftercare are completed accurately, with guest information handled confidentially.
• Oversee the cleanliness and presentation of treatment rooms, equipment and shared spa areas, including linen, laundry and stock routines.
• Ensure routine hot tub and sauna garden checks and records are completed by appropriately trained staff, reporting maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Help manage enquiries, bookings and payments, working with reception and the restaurant team to coordinate spa packages.
• Handle guest feedback and concerns professionally, resolving issues within your authority and involving hotel management when needed.
• Monitor stock levels and product use, reduce avoidable waste and arrange replenishment through the agreed ordering process.
• Encourage suitable recommendations and repeat bookings, and contribute ideas to improve the guest experience and develop the spa.
• Hours will be available in other departments during quiet periods or in between treatments

What we are looking for

Essential:

• A recognised Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy including body massage, or equivalent relevant qualifications covering massage and facial treatments.
• Experience delivering treatments in a professional spa, salon or similar setting.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting colleagues, with the confidence to organise daily work and maintain standards.
• A sound understanding of consultations, treatment suitability, contraindications, hygiene and professional boundaries.
• Strong organisation and communication skills, including confidence using an electronic booking diary.
• A friendly, calm and professional manner, with the ability to make guests feel comfortable and welcome.
• Reliability, initiative and a willingness to help with the practical tasks involved in running a small spa.

Desirable:

• Previous experience as a spa supervisor, senior therapist or team leader.
• Additional recognised qualifications in treatments such as aromatherapy, deep tissue massage, hot stones, manicures or pedicures.
• Appropriate specialist training in pregnancy massage or oncology-informed treatments.
• Experience coordinating spa packages, monitoring stock or supporting bookings and repeat business.
• Familiarity with Made for Life Organics or Margaret Dabbs London products.

Specialist treatments will only be allocated where the relevant qualifications, training and competence have been verified.

Pay: £12.75-£14.00 per hour
