Assistant General Manager – 5-Star, Michelin Key Boutique Hotel

Are you an experienced hospitality leader ready to take the next step towards general management?

We are looking for an ambitious and driven Assistant General Manager to join our team at a 5-star, Michelin Key boutique hotel. This is an exciting opportunity to help lead a refined, high-end operation where exceptional service, attention to detail and a memorable guest experience are at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

As Assistant General Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to lead the day-to-day running of the hotel, restaurant and bar. You will deputise in their absence, drive standards across every department, and play a key role in the hotel’s commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in the overall running of the hotel, restaurant and bar, deputising when required
  • Lead, motivate teams to deliver outstanding service
  • Be a visible, hands-on presence on the floor, engaging with guests and setting the standard for the team
  • Ensure daily checklists are completed accurately and consistently across all departments
  • Uphold and enforce the hotel’s standards, ensuring every team member adheres to them
  • Follow, embed and continually improve standard operating procedures (SOPs), identifying opportunities to raise standards and efficiency
  • Help drive revenue across rooms, food and beverage, identifying commercial opportunities and upselling
  • Assist with rotas, recruitment, training and staff development
  • Handle guest feedback and online reviews, resolving issues with professionalism and care
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless communication and service flow
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety, food safety and HR standards
  • Maintain the highest standards of presentation, cleanliness and guest experience throughout the hotel

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a senior hospitality management role, ideally as an Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager or Restaurant Manager in a high-end hotel or restaurant
  • A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences in a luxury setting
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, develop and hold a team to high standards
  • Good commercial awareness and confidence working with budgets, figures and KPIs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A calm, organised approach in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • A proactive attitude with the ambition to progress into general management
  • A Personal Licence is desirable but not essential
