Bohemia has a rare & exciting opportunity for a dynamic sous chef who is looking to take their career to the next level. Bohemia has been the leading gastronomic restaurant in Jersey for the past 22 years and has held a Michelin Star for the past 22 years. Our last two head chefs have been promoted from Sous chef in Bohemia as we believe in rewarding success and hard work.

We are looking for either an experienced Sous chef or exceptional Jr Sous chef who is looking for their next opportunity to join our team who will aid the day to day running of the kitchen.

You must be a focused individual with Michelin/high rosette level experience. It is important that you hold an understanding for all sections of the kitchen and be currently working in a 3-4 rosette or Michelin starred Restaurant - and be able to show a stable work history. Bohemia has turned out some stunning chefs so offers amazing career opportunities. Both our last two Sous chefs have become head chefs when the opportunity arose so you will be joining a company willing and egar to promote and support your talent.

The successful candidate will be joining an exciting business with a strong family philosophy and a highly experienced award-winning team driving for the highest standards of food and service. Together we work hard to achieve excellence in a supportive and fun working environment.

This includes upholding the standards and practices on a day-to-day basis, as well as deputizing in their absence. You will have a passion, discipline & enthusiasm to produce fantastic Food
You should have excellent communication skills with in-depth knowledge of several cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes.

The Sous Chef Role

-Outstanding attention for detail.
-To be fully aware of the Company's Food Policy and Food Handlers responsibilities in line with legislation and contractual obligations
-Must have a stable and progressive background in Michelin restaurants or 3/4AA rosettes and currently working as a Sous chef, Jnr Sous with two years’ experience in a similar role or Snr CDP in an exceptional property.
-Capable of working with the team of 12 chefs and assist in the running of the kitchen
-Confidence & managing the day to day operation of the kitchen when the Head Chef is away
-Have great communication and organizational skills;
-Have the ability to closely work with the management team;
- Monitor and record inventory, and if necessary, order new supplies.
-Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
-Recruit and train new kitchen employees to meet restaurant and kitchen standards. Develop & assist new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand.
-Ensure that kitchen activities operate in a timely manner.
-A team player who can coordinate with others, motivate the team and encourage other members of the chef brigade to excel.
